One of my favorite photographers, Jarrad Seng, is on tour with Passenger. Following the band along on their world tour, I checked Jarrad’s Instagram frequently to see the adventures he was getting up to. Naturally enough, when Jarrad posted he was looking for interns to assist him during shows, it sparked interest. However, it wasn’t until a week later, during a night of insomnia, that I actually reached out:
And so, life went on per usual, forgetting I sent this the morning after once I fell back asleep.
So, when Jarrad’s name showed up in my email, surprised was an understatement. He wasn’t just looking for an intern — he was looking for someone to replace him. Once I was done freaking out, I gladly accepted! Despite the crazy week I’ve been having (with work, grad photos, and school), opportunities like this only come one in a full moon.
It was one of the most amazing nights. Energy was vibrating, the audience was not rowdy, and Mike was outstanding. I’ve never tried concert photography, and it was so much fun. With Austin being the Live Musical Capitol of the World, it’s definitely something I want to continue more, in addition to my wedding, portrait, and travel work. Thank you Stubb’s for having me!
So, without further ado, here are highlights from the night:
