Modern Engagement Shoot at Enchanted Rock

One of my favorite spots to photograph engagements is at Enchanted Rock State National Park. Located in Fredericksburg, Texas, this pink granite mountain is one of the more elevated places in the Texas Hill Country. It was a perfect spot for Priya and Suchir’s modern engagement photos.

Story

The two met via a dating app in Boston. Coincidentally, it happened that Priya’s friend is Suchir’s sister! After long-distance dating, they made Austin their permanent home. Shortly after, they were engaged. Priya reached out to me to get their engagement photos done here in their new home, tying their new roots in.

The Vision at Enchanted Rock

Priya wanted to have an elevated (no pun intended), modern look to her engagement photos while embracing the natural elements of the scenery. A satin jumpsuit that went well with the pink granite, which glowed post-storm, making the photos sleek and modern. The wind made the shoot so vogue!

This paired nicely with their most casual look later, of a white dress and navy button-up.

Speaking of rainstorms, we arrived at Enchanted Rock at 6:30 am, ready for a sunrise shoot. However, the intense rain stopped us until 8:30 am, two hours later! No matter the delay, it was worth the hour and a half drive one way and the hail storm we had to drive through. The climb up to the top of the mountain was wet, slippery, and had us crawling like crabs sometimes.

The two get married this summer in California, surrounded by their family and friends. Congratulations Priya and Suchir! For now, enjoy their modern engagement photos located at Enchanted Rock.
