Soul Session – Katie Olsen

If you haven’t experienced Austin during July, I don’t recommend it. As soon as the sun hits you, it feels like you are melting. Day activities has to involve water or it’s the air conditioning life. You just can’t do it. It is SO hot. However, despite all of this, Katie did not complain once. Even though we started shooting at 9am, I was drenched by the end of it. We spent our Saturday morning walking through Red Bud Isle; dogs galavanted around us as we shot (I’m pretty sure they wanted to be in the spotlight!).

This soul session was about playing with textured light. I’m so used to shooting in prime golden hour, where you can’t take a bad photo. I wanted to play with the lights and shadows of the tree branches, creating different textures on the skin. Let me know your thoughts and enjoy!
