It is day 26 of quarantine (I had to pull out the calendar to count). How are you feeling? Do you need anything?
Not going to lie, the last month has been hard. My camera has been collecting dust, as I find it hard to motivate myself to get creative. There are days there I thrive: I do my home workouts, I eat healthy, I go for walks, and I host Zoom hangouts. Other days, I don’t leave my house at all, I eat only bread and cereal, and I watch Netflix and play mindless iPhone games.
I’ve started to journal more than ever (check out The Isolation Journals if you’re looking for some inspo), and this time alone has allowed me the precious time to do things I never do: read for hours on end, not force myself to do any high-intensity workouts, not be go-go-go.
Which brings me to photography. I haven’t been shooting the last couple of weeks (it’s technically illegal for me to do so, since it is not an essential business), so I wanted to share one of my most favorite sessions so far in 2020. Annelise and Troy live in Fort Worth; I live in Austin; yet, we flew out to Salt Lake City in the middle of winter for their engagement photos for their wedding in August.
For hours, we drove from one location to another, talking about our lives, our families, our homes, and our goals. It was like hanging out with old friends, roadtripping around Utah. It is with great joy that I get to share part ONE of their engagement session, located at the Bonneville Salt Flats. Enjoy.
