Hey hi hello! I’m Ailin, but I also go by Rachael.
(It’s pronounced like “EYE-LIN”!)
We all have stories to share. Here is mine: I was born in Melbourne, Australia, raised in Singapore, and now live in Austin, Texas. I received my BBA in Digital Media Management in 2017 from St. Edward’s University, and I now work in digital marketing full-time.
My Why
I started “this photo thing” back in January 1st, 2010, when I decided to take a photo everyday for a year. It was called “Project 365”. With my family camera, I learned how to use manual mode, create self portraits, and taught myself Photoshop. It stuck, and I’ve been shooting with clients ever since.
Story-telling (ask me any Harry Potter trivia question) is my passion, and you can find that in my work. My style is “colorfully dramatic” – I rather let the moments speak for themselves, but I like to add a little spice.
Photography has taken my all over the world: I’ve shot in the hills of Texas, Colorado mountains, the glaciers of Iceland, and salt flats of Utah. My niche is in small, intimate weddings and elopements for the adventure seekers.
Fun fact – I grew up in South East Asia, and my ‘real’ name is actually Ai Lin (爱淋) – meaning “lovely jade” in Chinese.
What I can promise
When working with me, my biggest priority is making sure you feel comfortable. A lot of people feel awkward or uncomfortable in front of the camera. I am an energetic, adaptable human that wants to celebrate these big moments with you.
